  • All of my recommendations are based on the two most important aspects of practical guidance – solid evidence from clinical research studies combined with real-world experience from parents who have put these methods into practice. For effective, easy-to-implement guidance, you must have both…and we accept nothing less for our clients.

With that said, kids are all unique! Some may end up with a more limited diet despite your best efforts. This could be due to sensory issues, food sensitivities, autism, or other conditions that can lead to picky behavior. While there is no guarantee that every kid will be an adventurous eater, we promise to help set your family on the best path possible to expose them to a variety of foods and reduce mealtime stress. This way, your child can eventually land in a better place than they would have otherwise.

  • Fortunately, most of my sessions can be done effectively via a virtual meeting in the comfort of your home. This makes consultations especially convenient for parents of young children. Naptime is a perfect window for consultation, or you can have a family member or sitter help with your child(ren) for an hour or so during the consultation.

However, when needed I can also offer group consultations or workshops in person in the state of Colorado or southern Wyoming.

  • Each session provides one hour of undivided attention and coaching with pediatrician Dr. Christina Nelson, aka the Dinnertime Doctor. To prepare for the session, you’ll complete an intake questionnaire to help tailor the consultation to your specific needs and questions.

After the session, we’ll share a number of helpful resources including checklists, recipes, and recommended books to continue your adventurous eating journey.

  • A one-hour Early Intervention session costs $140.

Group consultations for up to 10 participants are 2 hours and cost $300, plus travel fees if in-person sessions are held outside of Fort Collins, CO.

The 6-week Picky Eater program includes 3 sessions for $425.

  • Life with a young family can be unpredictable! I make every effort to reschedule consultations when illnesses or other issues throw a wrench in your plans. However, a no-show fee of $75 will be charged for clients who do not give at least 2 hours’ notice before canceling a session.

  • All services are self-pay. We do not bill insurance for the consultations.

  • For Early Intervention consultations on best practices, one session is typically sufficient to cover our comprehensive guidance and answer your questions. However, if you have lots of questions or a unique situation, we are happy to schedule more sessions to cover your needs!

As kids develop and change, guidance evolves as well to adjust to new stages and challenges. Thus, we recommend one session for every childhood stage – infant, toddler, preschooler, and elementary school. Therefore, after your first session we suggest following up with another session in 1-2 years once your child has reached the next stage.

For the Picky Eater Program, 3 one-on-one sessions are included.

  • Yes! While it’s best to start learning and adopting best practices as early as possible, our methods can help parents of children at any age.

  • Children with substantial food-related issues such as Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), moderate-severe anxiety, poor weight gain, gastrointestinal disorders, or other medical conditions should be evaluated and treated by their pediatrician and/or a dietitian.
